Since the beginning Mettricks has been on a mission to bring better coffee to Southampton.
What started as one independent café is now a family-run collection across Guildhall Square, Portswood (home to Ascapart Roastery), Woolston Waterside, WestQuay, and Lyndhurst. Each space is a little different. All are built around the same idea: great coffee, fresh food, and a warm welcome.
OUR STORY
With terraces, secret gardens, conservatories, and cosy corners, our cafés are made for everyone - families, friends, dog walkers, and cycle groups alike. Expect speciality coffee roasted right here in Southampton, delicious food from big breakfasts to grab-and-go bites, a huge cake selection, craft beer and cocktails, plus the full Ascapart range to take home.

We've always believed that the best coffee is the coffee that you enjoy. But our mission has been to bring Better Coffee to Southampton - encouraging experimentation and a constant desire to learn in an accessible, none preachy way. And wow, we’ve learnt a lot along the way too!
For as much as we love it when we see eyes light up at the first sip of a filter coffee that challenges everything you ever thought you knew about a coffee, we are just as thrilled to make your daily flat white just as you like it. And since 2022 we've been roasting our very own coffee here in Southampton - fulfilling a dream we had all those years ago.
Our beans are responsibly sourced and roasted at Ascapart, then poured across our sites as expertly pulled espresso and flat whites.

Mettricks has always been more than coffee and food. It’s about people. We host events, showcase local talent, and give our spaces back to the community whenever we can. Because cafés should be for everyone.
